VTS IT Brand Kit

A single working reference for anyone producing VTS IT material — logo, colour, type, voice and the messaging that has been confirmed by the business. Compiled from your existing assets, your 2021 guidelines and the corrections Glenn and Sue provided this week.

A working document, not a final one

Glenn has indicated the brand is due to change. This captures the current state accurately so there is one reliable reference in the meantime, and so the rebrand has a clear "before" to work from. It is built to be revised — tell us what changes and we will reissue it.

01 · Logo

The mark

The wordmark is a speech-bubble device: lowercase "vts" in white, "it" in coral, on a navy gradient field with a tail at lower right. The bubble is part of the mark and should not be removed.

Do

Keep clear space of at least the height of the "v" on all sides. Scale the SVG for anything above 200 px. Place on navy, white or a clean photograph with sufficient contrast.

Don't

Recolour the mark, separate "it" from "vts", stretch or rotate it, add effects, or place it on a busy area of an image where the bubble edge is lost.

Master files: SVG (vector, preferred), PNG with transparency, EPS for signage. Held in New VTS IT Logo / Logo+vtsit.

02 · Colour

Palette

Two palettes are currently in play. The brand palette is taken from the logo itself and is what content should use. The interface palette comes from your 2021 Brand Identity Guidelines and governs product and web UI.

Brand palette — use for content

Navy

Coral
#FF6B6B · rgb(255,107,107)
White
#FFFFFF
Navy gradient
#042959 → #073F78

Navy is the ground, white carries the message, coral is the accent — used sparingly, for the single most important word or figure on screen. Coral loses its force the moment it is used for body text.

Worth resolving in the rebrand

The two palettes don't currently meet. Your 2021 guidelines lead on #0A84FF, while the logo is built on navy and coral. Neither is wrong, but a viewer moving from a social post to the website sees two different companies. Content currently follows the logo, on the reasoning that the mark is the fixed point. A single reconciled palette would be the highest-value outcome of the rebrand.

03 · Typography

System font, by design

Your 2021 guidelines specify no licensed typeface. Type is set in the system font, so it renders natively on whatever the reader is using — San Francisco on Apple, Segoe on Windows, Roboto on Android. This costs nothing in licensing and never fails to load.

Heading — weight 700, bold
Body text is weight 510 with a line height of 26. Medium is the default; regular is used occasionally, with line height 30.
Sub text is weight 400, line height 26, in the muted grey.

In social content the equivalents are white for headings and body on navy, with the muted blue-grey for supporting lines.

04 · Voice

Direct, plain, and willing to say the thing

VTS IT's public voice is unusually blunt for the sector, and that is the asset. Your own homepage carries the line "All MSPs Are Lying Bastards When It Comes to Cost." Very few competitors would publish that, which is precisely why it works.

The voice is

Plain-spoken. Specific. Confident without boasting. Happy to name an industry practice and explain why it costs the customer money. Short sentences. Real numbers where they can be evidenced.

The voice is not

Jargon-heavy, fear-based, or vague. No "leverage synergies", no scare tactics about breaches, no claims that cannot be shown in a contract.

One rule that protects the edge: the bluntness is aimed at industry practice, never at a named competitor. That keeps the tone and removes the legal risk.

05 · Messaging

What the business actually sells

One environment. One managed service. One predictable cost.
The governing idea, in Glenn's words: the differentiator is not cheaper hourly rates, and not that every after-hours event is free. It is the removal of the traditional MSP decision about whether something is "included" or "out of scope". The payoff: your IT budget becomes a guarantee rather than an estimate.

Claims that must be stated precisely

TopicThe accurate position
After-hoursMonitoring and alerting after-hours is included. Work carried out overnight or at a weekend is chargeable. If the client is content to wait until the next business day, that labour is included. The choice belongs to the client.
Infrastructure failureThe labour and services to repair or rebuild failed infrastructure are included. Say "infrastructure", not "server".
HardwareReplacement hardware is not included unless the client holds Hardware as a Service (HaaS).
ScopeEverything required to manage and maintain the client's IT environment should be in scope. "Out of scope" is the industry's problem, not VTS IT's model.
